So the correct order to get your sound done is:ġ) Install sound driver, 2) Install Soundblaster from CD in Vista compatability mode, 3) Install the patch. In my personal experience, headphones are working good with my Sound Blaster Z and Aorus Elite but my 5.1 sound system is affected by audio channels swapping and freeze after few minutes. You should have a CD labeled Creative Soundblaster X-Fi MB that you need to install from, then once that is installed you can install the patch. That is only a patch and not the full program. You say you are using the PATCH? Is that the one from the Drivers and Download page? If you answer yes then I know the problem.
